• I’m at UVA orientation right now, and it sucks. First of all, most of the classes for my major aren’t offered anymore, or at least not this semester. I saw a map, and Copeley is WAY far away. The girl I got my housing agreement from hasn’t given me my $100 yet. I didn’t have a financial advisor OR an advising appointment. It’s hot and nasty outside. Chinese 101 is full, and I’d be fifth on the wait list (just like Shea House!). I got lost OUTSIDE (sweaty) today, going around The Lawn twice. I have no clue what classes to take.

    My schedule thus far:
    - JAPN 481 Modern Literary Texts (日本語で)
    - JPTR 535 Introduction to Classical Japanese Literature (英語で)
    - JPTR 590 Kawabota & Oe (英語で)
    - HIEA 311 China to the Tenth Century
    - ANTH 363 Chinese Family and Religion (TBA)
    - CHIN 101 Chinese I (Wait-Listed)

    I need to take: AMEL 101, JPTR 322, HIEA 321, RELB316, ARTH362, JPTR 483/331… and so on.
I buttered the Chinese Professor up though, stating I have experience with the Chinese Culture, Customs, Alphabet-through Japanese, and some Cantonese, though this is a Mandarin class. Mandarin is easier than Cantonese anyways.
I found out that my Great-Grandfather (whom I visited in Hawaii recently) speaks Cantonese! Unfortunately, he’s hard of hearing and slow of talking, so I didn’t bother asking him about it.
I’ll update SOME time about Hawai’i, PaddleBoating, Easter, and junk like that once I GET to UVA, because LJ is blocked on my internet.
Also, “clubs” I got: Japanese, Chinese, Campus GIrl Scouts.
This orientation is stupid. I left 6 hours early the first day. I’m at a first year session because UVA is stupid and only has one transfer session, which occured when I was in Hawaii. Maybe I SHOULD have gone to William & Mary. (I keep saying this to myself over and over, and my grandmother told be to withdraw from UVA and call W/M to get re-accepted)

    Whoosh~ >wipes forehead<
    ^_^ @_@
