Last Thursday I went to the Pentagon City mall and bought 3 suits at Limited. Well, it was really one suit, but I bought all the matching pieces I could find so that I could wear it as three suits. I don’t want to buy the jacket and then figure out later that I like the print except they dont make it anymore so I can’t buy matching pants/skirts/dress or whatever. Plus, It was buy one get the other 40% off (for jackets and pants), so I got all 4 pieces for $185.

The jacket is okay, I don’t quite like the piping, but I love the look and feel of the fabric. It’s like a really dark grey with a denim-y look to it. I also really really like the dress, it fits me very well and is a great day to night peice. And since I was buying those two things, I wanted to buy the skirt and pants for the aforementioned reason. Didn’t set me back much at all! Now I want to get some nice black shoes to go with this suit. The ones I have from target are peep toe, and I want completely closed-toe shoes.

So I had an excuse to FINALLY bust out my new bento (haven’t used since I bought it in Japan in August!)
I thought this baby would be too big for me, but that one extra compartment is perfect!
Since I’ll be making bento for myself the next few days, i figured that it would also be nice for me to make it for my sister and brother. Though, I didn’t tell them I was doing this, so hopefully they know.

I had originally planned to make Katsudon, tempura-ed pork cutlet on top of rice with an egg on top that cooks itself with the heat from the rice and pork, BUT the pork was NOT cooperating. My dad made me get pork from target so it was super thick and he lost his meat tenderizer so I eneded up SOMEHOW flaying these pork cutlets.
Another experimental thing was that I tried, like cookin’ mama says, to put them in egg>flour>pankc (bread crumbs) but I think i put too much flour on it so the panko wouldn’t stick! My dad also hid the rice from me so while I was looking for it I kinda burnt the tonkatsu (hacving to cut off the black-ish ends) and kinda ‘baking’ the bottom of my ome! [but it was okay cause i got to use my cool cool omelets pan from the Japan dollar store!]

I made my sister and brothers the same. My sister’s is in a horizontal rilakkuma bento where my brother’s is in a vertical tiger bento (actually my sisters).

yes, i know omelette is spelled wrong. it’s omeleT.

I actually ran out of omelette and tonkatsu for MY bento so i got extra sammies.
the picture pretty much explains everything BUT i forgot to say that I put a little ritter sport cappachino (sp?) square in there. which reminds me… i wanna try pancake sammies with nutella! (too bad my house doesn’t have any) nutella and banana pancake sammies, yummy~!

oh, and after i gave up on katsudon, i wanted to make little rolls with the egg rolled around a tonkatsu strip but i baked the ome too long and it broke when i tried to roll it.
on another note, i bought these nashi (asian pears) from target and they looked fine on the outside but they were MOLDED on the inside. I cut around the molded center and tasted them and they tasted okay (hopefully they are).

tomorrow i will make pork in soy sauce (chinese dish) with butternut squash! i bought some today cause i was craving it. funny thing is… i’ve never made it! (trust me, i tried to find canned squash but they didnt have it).

i thought this bento would be super quick but i took my time and kept getting side tracked and encountering obstacles so it actually took be about 2 hrs (cleaning included).

    ingredients
tonkatsu: pork, panko, flour, egg (2), vegetable oil, tonkatsu sauce
ome: egg (3), baby spinach, dash of parmesean cheese, pepper, panko, soy milk
pancake sammies: whole grain pancakes, cream cheese, grape jelly
nicole’s yogurt: strawberries (yuck!), blueberries, nashi, vanilla activ yogurt, grape nuts
I thought I was pretty good on my bento in keeping healthy (just a drizzle of sauce and i snuck veggies in the omelet) and i also kept with bento rules of having equal colors. though the bento was really yellow/brown I added in green with the baby spinach leaves and blue and red with the fruit (though i don’t like strawberries!). i also am drinking pom juice instead of vitamin wanter.

I HAD to make a bento–I’m volunteering for Japanese class tomorrow! (i guess today since its past midnight)

    Latte update
Okay, I couldn’t wait guys. I got a honey latte @ my starbucks on friday night, and lets just say its not for me. Maybe its because i got it w/ skim milk and no whip? I wanted coffee with honey in it but it tasted like tea! watery tea with a kinda nutty honey aftertaste.
SO i went to the starbucks in the super-target today (Sunday) and got a chai latte, and i hate to say this starbucks, but i like greenberry’s chai latte better! starbucks’ is actually really spicy. too spicy! i think greenberry’s has the perfect blend.

    Sushi Yama
Dan and I went to Sushi Yama and we had a delicious dinner! The only bad thing being that I ordered ‘puff’ sushi, thinking they meant inari. Hmm… I was wrong. oh, and i got kissen ume shu. ’twas ok.

First off, I’m using internet at home which means… No facebook! Facebook is blocked on my internet because my dad, being the computer engineer he is, made it so to prevent my sister from wasting her time. >_<. Any updates (such as these) to Facebook are done through imported entries in my site (originally @ discojing.com). These updates are also going to livejournal.com. ^_^.
Now, I don’t know if I said this, but I got a new phone! A palm centro. I haven’t quite made up my mind about it. I originally wanted Red because of Sigma colors, but up close the red one looked cheap and the black one has this metallic, glittery sheen to it that I like (though would probably drive guys away from purchasing it). I like the fact that it has a touch screen, but it took me a while to figure out how to get a wallpaper to display instead of the menu. I had to download a few softwares to link the phone to my pc, and I’m having problems setting mp3s as ringtones. midis work fine, but I want to use mp3s! i’ve gone through all this effort to make short 30 sec mp3 clips and when I send them to my phone, i spend a couple minutes downloading (and of course being charged for) the file but then it plays no sound. O_o’. Out of like 20, only 3 work. And its totally random which ones work! I’ve tried sending the files through phone uploaders, email, and even making a webpage hosted here and clicking the linked files. No matter what, they don’t work. I also invested $9 in screen protectors, $25 in a headset, and $40+ in a 4gb micro sd card so i can put pics and music on it. (though you can not set synced music as ringtones. ringtones need to be saved to the internal hard drive). I really like this phone because its an upgrade from my crappy other one, and it gets GREAT service, not to mention the organizer, task list, and memo functions. I also really like the detailed phone book that i can sort. But it might be TOO organized and so complicated to find things as well as the fact that the thing for all my keychains is on the bottom! I haven’t transferred all of my keychains (just a red cow akabeko and a totoro) because I’m waiting for my screen protectors to come. I got 4 for $9, pretty nice! Gotta love ebay. Dan went to the store to get ones for me for a surprise, but at the sprint store, you had to cut your own out! O_o’. I had the option of getting bluetooth while I was at the Sprint store with my family, but it just didn’t occur to me, and now I had to pay for it. OOoooOh well.

By the way, I didn’t get a cellphone until after I graduated high school and I had to pay for it for two years. While my brother and sister both have phones! (2nd and 3rd year in HS). SO NOT FAIR. And i didnt get anything for my birthday. Just a house key! (finally), but this house key is just a hunk of metal because my parents, though i’m 21, NEVER let me go out. I have to ask permission to leave and they say no. I have been home for a week, and literally have only been out of the house for five hours. can anyone say cabin fever?. >_<

So my biggest birthday, 21, went off without a hitch. Except that dan took me to mie n yu and we had an excellent dinner! I'll post pictures up on facebook later, but we had:

I haven't exchanged presents with Dan yet b/c I haven't been able to go over there. >_<.

We had xmas dinner at my grandparents' house and it was beef roast (w/ gravy and blue cheese dressing), grilled onions in balsamic vinegar, green beans, yummy scalloped potatoes with bacon, famous potato bread, pistachio and pineapple jello that was frozen into sherbert, and guava chiffon pie. there's that hawai'i flair. ^_^.
After dinner we played games with my aunt/uncle/cousins, and I won it for the oandasans three times in a row. yep! It was a game called 'last word'. And... I always had the last word.

By the way, this post was inspired by the fact that I just found FROZEN HYOKO IN MY FREEZER!! FROM THE SUMMER!! FROM JAPAN!! And I ate one. SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD!

Hyoko are the little chick shaped pastries with white bean paste inside. Yummy~
I'm trying to sell my old phone on eBay (haven't put it up yet though) and I've been working, making a few designs.

So, I’ve been working (or will work) three jobs this Spring Break.

    1) PDI: Graphic Art, Editing Books and Pamphlets
    2) Loudon County: CASA Leader SUB (too bad it snowed today~ school was cancelled)
    3) Girl Scouts “Birthday Scouts” Event. $120 Tax Free Payment. ^w^

So, for this book “Discovering the Rainforest”, PDI asked me to do the graphics for a related game. I did the ‘money’ and kind of had fun doing it.

I had to make them black and white so that the kids could colour them.

It had all of my pencils and pens and erasers and hilghters in it, MINUS the one pen and one pencil that didn’t fit in there! And i still dont have an eraser. DARN IT.

    “5 years ago, I…dated a guy who cheated w/ my best friend…and i really didn’t care about afterwards…lol”
I don’t know HOW I got to Korina’s Xanga, considering the fact that I dont even use xanga.
It just pisses me off, the fact that she didnt even acknowledge that she ever went out with him, and then now says that he cheated on her? He broke up with her for me. That’s not cheating on her. Also, she didnt care about me after that, thats why we weren’t friends. And I was more of her servant during that time period than her friend. All the lies and falsities that I know now that I won’t even go into. (wow. that’s defintely not a word). hah.
too bad i didn’t even have an opening tag to make that even work. sorry for the lack of warning.

aaand, im watching bleach, and it’s stupid. it’s kinda a rip off of the Sabriel/Lariel series I read a while back. Elfien Lied was better (though, I didnt like it as much as others).
Samurai Champloo man! That is THERE. It’s so great. Aaaah.

You know what’s weird? Having sexual fantasies about your teacher. An older teacher. And then realizing that you’re taking his WIFE’s class. You know what, I can’t control my dreams.
You know what a WEIRDER dream was. My dream where I was throwing jellybeans at dinosaurs. Man, I always have dreams about dinosaurs. That, and dreams where I’m losing my teeth.

So I definetely had “sex hair” today. I mean, hair that’s really sexy. Not knappy hair that you get after having sex. Well, I guess it was. It was all touselled looking and stuff.
I went to work, and on my break, I went to express. I kinda hate, yet kinda love their sales. I really seriously hate express, but feel obligated to buy something just because it WAS $50 and is now on sale for $15. So i bought a white skirt, a FIND for me because I have really been searching EVERYWHERE for one since my white pants got stuff on them from the iron and then killed in the wash cause someone put like a red sock in there. And I got a black and silver striped shirt, just because it was $10, and a black wrap. Cause I wanted a black wrap before, but I got a emerald one. I hat digging through the boxes though. Oh, and I just bought a French Connection skirt for $180 dollars, and am going to buy another one tomorrow. (A different skirt of course, but the same price)

Last night, I ate at Gordon Biersh with Danny (I can take the time to capitalize his name.. ^_^) at the new part in Tysons. It was… nice. Interesting, but I still like our tried and true Sweet Water, Catbo, Bonefish, Spices, and such. This entry was way too much text, so I added the picture below.

Oh! I feel really good about myself!
    Today:
Got lots of compliments about being nice and knowledgable.
Will See movie with Danny. (Either Red Eye cause I like the Murphy dude-slash-scarecrow and it’s super cheap at University Mall or History of Violence wherever cause I have to pay since danny paid for din dins last night)
Donated tons of makeup (a whole huge gift bag full) to a battered wives shelter in my area

    Tomorrow:
Go to museums and Georgetown with Danny.

    Monday:
    Go To Tysons with Danny

    Tuesday:
Work on clients’ websites and Graphic art

    Wednesday:
    Dance!

    Thursday:
    Tutor

    Friday:
Record Registration Presentation with College Board.

    Saturday:
Volunteer at the Zoo for Girl Scouts
    Work (close)

    Sunday:
    Kings Dominion HELLZ YAH.

    Oh, and My Grades:
    Art History: A
    Communications: A
    History: A
    English: A
    Math: A

Not to mention that I tutor every day of the week, chemistry and math.
    ahhh. ego boost.

But SERIOUSLY. I’m addicted to Lacoste, and I want to see if Le Tigre fits me. But no place carries it for women. (I saw it in Macys NYC, but that doesn’t count cause that was like a small country).

Anyone know sizes in that brand? I’m a 38 in Lacoste and size 34/36B chest; 29? waist. I dont really wear european sizes, and waist isnt accurate, cause my butt/hips are huge.
