VERSION 2.6 SIREN (and you dont need the light to guide you through this)

this was my first layout at neonsparkle.net. i felt like i needed a “neonsparkle”-esque feel to it, so i took some screen captures of windows media player (chemical nova and battery squares) and blended them. i als o used lyrics for tori amos’s “siren” in silkscreen over it. i also traced the shape of the player for the bottom of the menu. people were getting on me to change it, so i did. sorry, no goldfish remixed.
VERSION 2.7 LOVE BEFORE TIME (the world fades away, but you stay)

i was actually looking for hilary duff “come clean” screen shots, when i saw this picture at teh got milk site. i loved it. i remember loving it when i saw it in the magazines. i loved the crouching tiger hidden dragon movie. i struggled alot with the colors of this pisture, and the blending of the picture and the background. i just drew lines to cut it off
in the end. the brushes and such were from a site, but i didnt get the brushes, so filled it with screen shots of the effects. the lyrics of ‘love before time’ were imbedded and inspired me. i posterized the image for the bg of pages like this (off the main) and the splash image. actually got B2 working. i love my host for that.

VERSION 2.8 FLOWERS AND CAGES (picture doesnt quite fit in the frame)

you can thank david for it, cause hes the one that always says that josh todd (the model there…) is the sexiest guy in
the world. i dont know how i got the code to flow from here to below, but it did. i made the image using poloroids someone scanned in and then pictures off josh todd’s website. harder than it seems, cause i cut them to fit the frames, then sepia and hued them. seems the font, carpenter itc, is perfect, huh? navigation on the left picture. quotes from “flowers and cages” last two images were the backgrounds for poetry pages and popups. thats me at the top!!

VERSION 3.0 KARMA POLICE (for a minute there, i lost myself)

inspiration was my dad finally letting me listen to his OK computer CD. i love this song, and was really feeling it. the background picture was really taken by me, on a stormy february day. i loved the vector tools, and the navigation. rollovers baby. someone told me it was too plain, so i had to change it

VERSION 3.1 HOLLOW MEN (not with a bang, but a whimper)

someone (dan) told me to change the layout, and i did. i actually went outside, took this pic and changed it. it seems like it took a really long time to load because it was a big background, and i used opacity filtered layers over it. the navigation was hell, and the links didnt show up that well. i liked it though.

VERSION 3.1 (1/2) WHEN WINTER COMES (spring will follow)

i took these pictures with the self timer on my newly fixed digital camera. that was basically it, though i had been wanting to use that picture of my fortune cookie for a while. it was on my bulliten board. i also revamped the sub pages’ layout. rollover images, and 3×3 font.

VERSION 3.2 SPRING BRINGS FRESH LITTLE PUDDLES

i took this picture of my bird, barney. i uesd quotes from tori amos’s “here in my head”, and made my own filters, swirly brushes, and arrows and boxes. nifty, eh? i did use dreamweaver for the image swap script. i uesd silkscreen, ocrb, carpenter itc, radios in motion and 3×3 for the fonts. about 75 minutes, not counting fine tunig to the php afterword.

VERSION 3.3 SUCH GREAT HEIGHTS (come down they’ll say)

these are pictures i took with the self timer on my camera, once again. blowing a kiss, if you can see. different color
filters over top of it. arent you proud of me? i did it all by myself! the stars, twirlies, and navigation. i used silkscreen
and tags extreme 2 for the fonts. i often have the problem of making a layout and then not making it able to tile with the text, so this was a layer layout. inspired by “such great heights” by the postal service.

these are pictures that i took with my new digital camera. me and dan carved these pumpkins the day before halloween, and i took these pictures outside of his house. font was carpenter itc and silkscreen and ariel. very simple, very seasonal. i think i had this up for about a week or week and a half before i changed it. i was inspired by the changing colors, everything dying.
