I was up the night before until 1:30 AM writing 2 papers that I procrastinated. Then I woke up at about 8 the next day and went to History and Art History. I came home for food because I was super hungry, and had a turkey pot pie, about the only thing edible in my house.
I rewrote some of my Speech paper, printed it out, and left. Before I went back to school, I bought myself an Egg Nog Latte @ Starbucks. I got out of Speech class really early because out of like ten people presenting today, only three came/presented.
After class, I went and bought three pairs of shoes at Famous Footwear. Initially, the only reason I went into it is because I wanted to buy gel inserts for the uncomfortable shoes I was wearing. I bought a black and white sequined flat from Rampage (I have the silver ones). The black pair was $19.99, and the white pair was $9.99. I saw these cute shoes from REPORT, and the looked like the Chinese shoes I had ruined last winter. They had them in ivory and turquoise, but not in my size! The 7 was too small, and the 81/2 was too big. Then, as I was leaving, I saw the same shoes in black, but they were like $10 more because they had velvet lining. I tried my size, just for fun, and the ONE in my size was actually the other style, that was on sale for $16.99. At Famous Footwear, they only have one of each size, so I couldn’t bear to not get a pair and come back later, only to find that it was gone. So I bought all three pairs and it was only $50. That’s the normal price of ONE pair of the Rampage shoes.
Then, I left for Mason to meet the person interviewing me cause I’m one of Dan’s References.
Dan and I had planned to go to dinner for my birthday in DC. Earlier in the week, I had asked my mom to do my hair, and she said sure. Then, my grandmother asked me to babysit on Friday for my cousins since she was sick, and originally planned to do it. Since Dan and I had planned to go on Friday, I had to change my plans around (I didn’t want my sister to babysit for them). I had the option of doing it Thursday, after my Girl Scout meeting, or Saturday, after the dance recital. Well, my mom was eavesdropping on my phone conversation, so she said that if I went on Saturday, that Dan would have to pick me up because I was not getting driven anywhere, and had to ride with them. So Dan and I decided on Thursday.
And I got home at 5:00 and asked my mom to do my hair like she did for Dan and I’s one year anniversary. She totally did not. It was like a pyramid with HUGE ringlets on the bottom. It looked like an afro flattened on the top. I told my mom that I didn’t like it, and because she didn’t want to do it over again, she was like “it looks fine.” I didn’t think it should matter if she liked it, it was MY hair, for MY birthday. And then my sister started saying “who cares” and “you’re so ungrateful.” So I just left for my girl scout meeting.
There, my girls gave me balloons and sang me happy birthday. (more than what my family did).
I got home around 7:50. Before I left for my meeting @ 6, I had asked my mom to put hot curlers on so that they would be ready by the time I got home, and I could be ready in about 30 minutes. I came home and my mom was watching TV, and had not even looked for the curlers. After I came home and asked her to turn them on, she only sent my brother upstairs to look for them. I don’t think he even knows what they look like.
So I had to repair my broken curling iron, and do my own hair for an hour. Strangely enough, my hair curled perfectly fine, and came out the way I wanted. Unfortunately, the way my mom had hair-sprayed my hair was irreversible and the top of my hair was left flat. So, I pulled my hair back into a loose ponytail and it looked fine.
Dan’s lecture let out late, so he didn’t even get to my house till about 9. Then my mom said “you’re going out now? It’s nine o’clock!” and then she said “don’t be mad at me for not doing your hair,” and she said that it looked exactly the same anyways.
I just left as she was talking.
No one said bye. No one said anything nice to me leaving, at least. No one said happy birthday to me.
Anyways, so I was in a horrible mood, but dan cheered me up. I was so hungry, I couldn’t wait to go to DC, and yanyu closed in july anyways. So we went to bonefish. The food was fine, but the music was like hip hop and rap to a nice restaurant. After that I got to open my presents.
I got a cute, soft, owl scarf from urban Outfitters. Dan actually got the last one! Off of the display. I also got a really soft brown sweater from French connection and … my le coq sportif shoes!
Oh, and dan’s mom got me comfy socks! Cause i’m always cold at dan’s house.
I don’t know if I want the silver/pink ones, which dan gave me, or the whie/silver one. Dan said I can trade them.
